Curriculum

Our Infant Splash  class enhances your baby’s development and fast tracks their milestone achievement. Class activities are built on the latest research, and include socialization, sensory stimulation, motor skill development, and tummy time activities. Your child has more freedom to move in the water than on dry land, and swimming classes help them develop strength and experience balance and buoyancy. The class structure also promotes bonding between the adult and infant who participate.

Infant Splash class has a special price of $50 per month.

“With Kate, I started her as an infant, and she has grown immensely as far as her social and motor development since she started at Little Fishes.”

-Dr. Kristen Mennemeier, Pediatrician

Size: up to 6 children with a Parent or Guardian and 1 Instructor
Our Baby swim class boosts your child’s social skills, provides opportunities to use and strengthen all of their senses, and increases their comfort in the water. Exposing your child to the water early, before they potentially develop fear, also allows them to progress quickly as they mature and develop physically.

“My son started at 6 months and he loved it from the beginning. I felt like it was one of the few activities he could participate fully in at such a young age.”

Providing very young children with swimming lessons appears to have a protective effect against drowning. Baby and toddler swim lessons do not increase children’s risk of drowning.

Why Babies Should Swim Before They Walk
Toddler swim classes focus on increasing your child’s confidence in and out of the water, reinforcing water safety skills, and developing a love of the water – all while advancing their physical, social and intellectual development. Exposing your child early, before they potentially develop a fear of the water, will give them the chance to build swimming skills quickly as they mature and develop physically.

“He is LEAPING off the side of the pool, able to kick himself to the surface and even tries to swim to us from the platform and he’s only 17 months old!”

Swim Lessons Save Lives
Our Acclimation class introduces children to independent swimming by developing their coordination and strength in the water. We recognize that every child is different, and that is why we guide their progression at the pace that is appropriate to their individual needs. Your child is ready for Acclimation classes when they reach 2 1/2 years old and demonstrate the ability to participate in class without their parent.

“I just wanted to let you know that Cameron now allows me to wash his hair in the bathtub and puts his face in the water, which he NEVER used to do before your swim class! He is much more comfortable in the water.”

-Anise B.
