4 Reasons to Start Swimming Lessons this Winter
As temperatures get colder, jumping in the pool is probably the last thing on your mind. But for the future little fish who have not yet had a chance to learn to swim properly, this season is a great time to start. Here’s why:
- They will be prepared for next summer. While every little fish learns to swim at his or her own pace, having a half-a-year head start is sure to make for a more confident swimmer. If you start now, you and your child will be much more at ease when it’s time to hit the outdoor pool full of people this summer.
- Swimming lessons are the perfect holiday gift. Giving your child the gift of learning to swim is one that they will appreciate for a lifetime. Not only will they be able to partake in more social activities like pool parties and boating trips, but knowing how to properly swim could also potentially save their life.
- Class sizes are typically smaller. Little Fishes Swim School makes it a priority to keep classes small year-round, but this happens organically in the winter months. Because less families partake in swim lessons during the off-season, your little fish has more chances for one-on-one time with the instructors. And for a beginner, that can make all the difference.
- It’s a cure for the winter blues. Being cooped up inside due to the colder weather and shorter days can seem like an endless time-out to high-energy children. Swimming lessons are a great way to expend some of that extra energy. Plus, our pools are always filled with 93-degree water, so they are the perfect cold weather escape!
As you can see, there are my many reasons to start your future little fish in swimming lessons this winter. At Little Fishes Swim School, both our Brentwood and Chesterfield locations hold classes year-round, so feel free to give us a try at any point throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you!
