Deciding on the right swimming program for your little one? With so many options, it can be a tough decision to make. Considering that swimming is not only a life skill, but also a life-saving skill, we encourage you to get feedback from other parents about their experiences and opinions before you choose. To help you get started on your research, we asked ShayVonda Mayes some questions about her and her daughter’s experience with Little Fishes Swim School.

Tell us about your swimmer’s skill progression since starting at Little Fishes.

When my daughter started with Little Fishes she was just six months old. She was very clingy and didn't like the male instructors at all. Now, almost three years later, she's a very outgoing kid and loves all her coaches.

How have you seen her growth outside of swim skills?

Swim class is helping her to develop focus. Her mind wanders so far at 3-years-old, but I'm finding that once she does focus, she picks up on things very quickly. That applies not just to swim class but at home, in school, and dance class as well.

What makes Little Fishes different than other swim lesson opportunities?

I like that the children swim in salt water rather than chlorine. The teachers incorporate songs into learning, and they really care about your child/children.

Why do you love Little Fishes?

I love the patience they have for not just my daughter, who plays during class time A LOT, but for me as well. I'm a single mom struggling to juggle three jobs and raising her on my own, but with the make-up class opportunities and the friendly staff, it is easy and convenient.

How would you describe Little Fishes to a friend?

Awesome swim school that incorporates fun and love into learning.

If your kiddo had to describe Little Fishes in three words, which would they choose?

Fun, happy, and great!
