LFSS Helps Break Guinness Book of World Records
On Tuesday, Little Fishes Swim School joined swim schools and organizations on five continents in an attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the world's largest swimming lesson. Created by the nonprofit and aptly-named group, World's Largest Swimming Lessons, the event raised awareness about drowning--the second-leading cause of childhood deaths. Research shows that children who do not learn to swim by the 3rd grade probably never will acquire the life-saving skill.
At LFSS, students and coaches swam and splashed in the simultaneous lessons, along with Olympic Gold Medalists Janet Evans, Rowdy Gaines and Brendan Hansen as well as past and present members of the USA Swimming National Team. Hundreds of thousands of swimmers also participated at 700 locations around the globe.
A big thank you to all who participated--and to Fox 2 News for featuring LFSS in a story on the event (click here to watch).
